Capacity building programme for Community Newspaper Publishers in Delta State

A one day capacity building programme for Community Newspaper Publishers in Delta State is currently ongoing in Asaba the Capital of Delta State.
Organised by the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Prince Joseph Oromonukpaye, the theme of the Seminar is the impact of adequate reporting of the M.O.R.E. agenda to the grassroots.
Some top state government officials including the Commissioners for Finance, Economic Planning, Oil and Gas,
Chairman of the State Pension Bureau as well as the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Delta State Council, Comrade Churchill Oyowe.

In his welcome address, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Newspapers, Prince Oromonukpaye, thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving the Seminar, which will enhance effective reporting of the policies and programmes of the state government.

The Rector of the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Prof. Emmanuel Ufuophu- Biri, will present the lead paper while a veteran journalist and a one-time Special Assistant to Information Commissioner in the state, Mr Pius Mordi will also speak on the role of community newspapers in Nigeria,
