The Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, has congratulated the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, on the honour bestowed on him as, “LIVING LEGEND OF DELTA STATE YOUTHS” by the National Youth Council Of Nigeria (NYCN), Delta State Chapter.

Ehiwarior, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Jonathan Onwuka, Wednesday, described the award as a recognition of the significant contributions of Senator Okowa to the wellbeing of youths in Delta State.

The Chairman noted that the former Governor has been a long standing friend of youths, having shown commitment to youth empowerment over the years through the various positions he had held both at the local government and state as well as national levels, and also by the many youth empowerment initiatives of his administration.

He described Okowa as an exemplary personality, noting that, “this recent award comes as an appreciation and a glowing tribute to a leader par excellence, whose love for the people particularly, youths, remains legendary.”

“This award has, once again, reaffirmed your close knitted relationship with the youths in Delta State. As a youth myself, whose life has been impacted by your leadership, I join in celebrating a truly extraordinary father, leader, and national figure whose contributions to youth development will always be appreciated. Your legacy will remain etched, for long, in the hearts of the people of Delta State.”

The Council boss praised Senator Okowa for his youth-friendly disposition, adding that he remained a source of inspiration and encouragement to the younger generation, especially those occupying public offices who hope to bequeath legacies of service to the people.

“Your unwavering dedication to youth development, inclusive governance, and human capital growth has inspired countless young Deltans to believe in their potential and contribute meaningfully to society. Through your policies, mentorship, and personal example, you have sown seeds of excellence that will continue to bear fruits for generations to come.

“I am confident that, with this recognition and award by the Delta State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, more opportunities would be created, through your intervention, for the youths,” he stated.
