
CC Sunday Ovye Receives Distinguished Service Award
CC Matthew Sunday Ovye Commandant,
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Delta State Command, is
a thorough–bred, very patriotic Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Officer and dignified personality.
He has over time proven to be a meticulous team player and a jolly good fellow.
Visionary, creative and diligent in the discharge of his responsibilities, he is known for his dedication to work and duty.
His style of leadership is worthy of emulation.
CC Ovye maintains an open door policy and he is always willing to work with innovative minds.
He is indeed a shinning example of a leader that knows how to set high standards, encourage his officers to surpass those standards and reward them accordingly.
A man with great passion for service, who stands as a worthy ambassador of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, selfless, committed, and goal–driven man, has demonstrated amazing administrative acumen and extraordinary leadership traits in his service to the nation, over the years.

In recognition of his excellent services to the nation and humanity, the Federated Union of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria honoured him with a Distinguished Service Award.
In his remarks after receiving the prestigious award in his office , at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Delta State Command Headquarters,
CC Ovye thanked the Union for the recognising the contributions of the command to socioeconomic development of the nation.
He said that the award would spur him and officers of the Command to do more.
CC Ovye reaffirmed the commitment of NSCDC towards carrying out it’s statutory mandate efficiently and effectively .
He said that it has intensified efforts at protecting critical national infrastructure and assets, curtailing the activities of illegal miners, checkmating kidnapping.
CC Ovye said that NSCDC was also providing security for schools nationwide through its save schools initiative.
He said that NSCDC would continue to collaborate with the media but however urged the media to always exercise a high sense of professionalism and objectivity in their reportage.
