    Ministry of Urban Renewal, Delta State, is one woman who has proved to be an invaluable asset on account of her untiring efforts to the cause of effective and efficient implementation of the state government’s policy on Urban Renewal.

    She is a woman who never believed in impossibilities, beautiful, intelligent, responsible and diligent.
    Mrs. Ehimen, is a devoted christian and very resourceful public officer, encapsulates drive, purpose, vision and sheer energy.

    The commitment, sincerity of purpose with which Mrs Charity Ehimen has continued to handle her official assignments has impacted positively on the M.O.R.E. agenda of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori Administration.

    A quiet and easy going achiever, known for her simplicity, humble disposition and hard work, this very outstanding Permanent Secretary is indeed a pride of Delta State Public Service.
    Without any fear of contradiction we can say that good government is her watch word, while her password is integrity.
    Mrs. Ehimen is an icon of selfless and unrelenting service to humanity.

    It noteworthy that the Ministry of Urban Renewal has continued to witness an all round transformation since it was established and it has been consistent in carrying out its mandate which include:construction of intercity roads, environmental beautification and slum upgrade amongst others.
    Mrs. Charity Ehimen has received various honors and awards in recognition of her immense contributions to good service delivery and socio-economic development of Delta State.

    She is a recipient of the Federated Union of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria Award of Excellence.

    Born on 7th of May 1967, Mrs. Charity Babigha Ehimen hails from Patani in Patani Local Government Area of Delta State.

    For her early education, she attended Opukabu Primary School, Patani from 1971 to 1977, and after obtaining her First School Leaving Certificate, she proceeded to Anglican Girls’ Grammer school, Ozoro in 1978 and passed her West African School Certificate in flying colors in 1983, in quest for higher academic laurels, she moved to Bendel State University (Ambrose Ali University) Ekpoma in Edo State in 1984 where she graduated with Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Botany in 1988.

    Between 1995 and 1997, she was at the University of Ibadan, Oyo State where she obtained Master of Science Degree in Forest Resources Management and Diploma in Mission and Church Growth.

    Brimming with zeal and extraordinary determination to succeed in life, Charity did her mandatory one year National Youth Service, Agro Adoted Nigeria Limited, Otukpo, Benue State as an Agric Assistant (NYSC).

    After successful completion of her National Youth Service, she had a brief stint at Lennards Nigeria Plc, Ojota, Lagos as a Marketing Management Trainee before joining the Delta State Civil Service and was posted to Agricultural Development Programme, Ibusa as a subject Matter Specialist — Agro Forestry.

    She has served in various capacities in the service, as Area Forest Officer, Forestry Department in Ministry of Agriculture and National Resources Asaba, Director Forestry in the Ministry of Environment, before she was elevated to the position of a Permanent Secretary by His Excellency Sanator Dr. Ifeanyi okowa in 2019.

    She is currently the hardworking, resourceful and highly committed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Urban Renewal.

    A woman of many firsts, Charity Ehimen was the first Female Forest Officer in Delta State and first Female Director of Forestry in Delta State.
    To complement her rich academic profile, lady Mrs. Charity Ehimen is Fellow, Forestry Association of Nigeria and Fellow Chartered Institute of Human Capital Development.
